Many people have a radio in the kitchen, in the bathroom or in the bedroom. Previously, you received radio via the AM or FM band. In recent times, we have transitioned to the new DAB standard, which sends radio via a digital signal instead of analogue. The clear advantage of the digital signal is that you avoid noise on the line and can receive even more channels.
When selecting a DAB radio, look at your needs. Do you need a regular radio or a clock radio for the bedroom? Several models today offer the ability to play music via Bluetooth. If you are looking for a bigger solution, you can choose a micro system or an amplifier. A model with DAB+ is the safe choice if you want a lot more channels because it can receive more channels than a regular DAB radio as the channels are gradually transferred from the regular DAB band to DAB+.
The FM band closes within a number of years, but already in mid 2018 more channels are moved to the DAB band. If you want to listen to the radio in your car in the future, you also need to buy a new car radio.
