A flat screen TV is not just a TV. Today, the flat screen is also used for viewing movies from Netflix, pictures from the holiday trip or for the Playstation. Whether you have taken the picture with your smartphone or digital SLR camera, it does not really shine until it is viewed on a great screen where everyone can have a look.
The largest TV manufacturers such as LG, Samsung, Sony or Panasonic today have flat screens in many sizes like 60", 50", 42" and many others - even the very large 4K (Ultra HD) screens where you really benefit from the big Netflix subscription.
All new LED and OLED screens have built-in smart TV functions that significantly expand the functionality through different types of apps from leading providers. If you cannot settle with the smart TV options that for instance Sony, LG and Samsung offer, connecting an external set-top box is an option.
The standard resolution today is Full HD 1080p. Most TV channels broadcast their programs in this quality. You can benefit from a 4K-TV, if you have access to material of this quality at the same time.
No Danish channels today send programs in 4K quality, and nothing indicates that it will happen in the near future. Therefore, you can easily save some money by buying a cheaper flat screen, without the possibility of 4K (Ultra HD) format.
The recommended size of the flat screen largely depends on the room in which it will be used.
No matter if the screen reads LG, Samsung or another brand, it is the same amount of pixels on e.g. a Full HD TV. The larger the screen, the larger the individual pixels. Therefore it makes no sense with a 55" screen, if the sofa is just a few meters away. A good painting must be enjoyed at a distance. This is also the case with flat screens.
LCD screens are also called LED TVs. This means that the individual pixels on the screen are backlit by LED diodes (called LED BLU). Previously, cold cathode fluorescent lamps were used for backlighting of LCD monitors.
An OLED screen consist of organic light diodes, that can light up in the colours red, green and blue. Therefore, OLED flat screens do not utilize backligthing. If you did not find what you were looking for, see more great offers in our webshop below - of course at competitive prices.
