The new AE algorithm, originally developed for full-frame models and capable of accurately detecting skin tones, adjusts exposure for photos and videos accordingly. It also maintains natural colors under various light sources, from sunlight to theater and stadium lights, and reproduces skin tones, skies, and plants realistically.

Choose your creative look
Creative Look offers easy and enhanced creative flexibility. It provides 10 presets that you can apply directly or adjust with 8 customizable parameters, depending on the subject or scene and whether you are capturing photos, videos, or live streams. This allows you to set the desired mood in advance to immediately share your images.

Optical 5-axis image stabilization
Handheld or in challenging lighting conditions – the integrated optical 5-axis stabilization system, supported by precise gyro sensors, offers up to 5 stops of shake compensation. It detects and compensates for different types of camera shake, such as tilting and panning with longer focal lengths or during long shutter speeds.

Precise compensation on a pixel level
With improved design and control of key parameters, the α6700 offers precise detection and control down to the pixel level, fully utilizing the 26.0 megapixel sensor resolution to capture images with the finest details.

Selectable RAW file types and quality
In addition to compressed RAW recordings, the α6700 supports lossless compressed RAW, allowing efficient compression to capture more high-quality images in continuous shooting. For JPEG and HEIF images, a new light-image quality with reduced data size is available.

HEIF: High compression and excellent image quality
For the first time in an APS-C camera, the α6700 includes the HEIF format (High Efficiency Image File) with smooth 10-bit gradations for a more realistic depiction of the sky and skin tones in portraits. The HEIF format uses cutting-edge compression technology to reduce file size and storage space while maintaining consistent image quality.

Innovative AI processing
The α6700 is equipped with an innovative AI processing unit, which significantly enhances performance, including more accurate detection of various subjects.

Human pose classification
The α6700 uses shape data of subjects for motion detection, enabling enhanced eye detection. It applies learned human shapes and poses to precisely detect body and head positions, allowing the tracking of subjects even when they turn away from the camera or when faces are obscured by helmets or sunglasses.

Extensive subject recognition
The α6700 now recognizes not only people and animals but also birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes, enabling more flexible and reliable photo and video capture. In addition to eyes (Real-time Eye AF), settings for people, animals, and birds also now include head and body detection. Animal recognition is 40% better than the α6600.

Real-time intelligent tracking
The even more reliable AI-based real-time tracking supports various shooting situations, allowing you to focus on composition. The α6700 can even track people with helmets or animals turning away from the camera.

Faster, more precise AF with wide coverage
The immense processing power and updated algorithms of the new BIONZ XR processor deliver significantly improved AF performance with up to 759 phase-detection points, covering approximately 93% of the image area in photos.

Precise AF in low light from -3.0 EV
Advanced AF algorithms achieve high AF accuracy even in light conditions as low as -3.0 EV in AF-S mode (equivalent to ISO 100 with F2.0 lens). The Focus Priority mode ensures reliable AF results in low light and smaller apertures.

More than 1,000 images at 11 fps
The powerful BIONZ XR processor and large memory buffer increase writing speed to memory cards, allowing the α6700 to capture over 1,000 JPEG images, up to 59 compressed RAW images, or 23 lossless compressed RAW images in high-speed bursts.

Full-time DMF
When shooting with AF-C or AF-S autofocus, you can switch directly to manual focus mode at any time by turning the lens focus ring. This allows you to easily shift focus to another subject.

Focus bracketing for optimal shots
The α6700 automatically captures up to 299 images with shifted focus points at definable intervals and sequences. You can then select the perfect image. During editing, you can creatively merge images with incredible depth of field.

Flicker suppression
Suppress flicker from artificial light sources in photos and videos. Simply select the "Anti-Flicker System" or use "Var. Shutter" to fine-tune shutter speed depending on flicker rate when shooting videos.

4K video recording for stunning quality
The α6700 records 4K (QFHD: 3,840 x 2,160) at up to 60p (50p) using Sony's 6K oversampling technology. Compressing this expanded detail in the output results in 4K video quality with outstanding definition, even at higher frame rates. The camera also supports XAVC S-I (All-Intra) and XAVC HS formats with 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling.

4K 120p (100p) high frame rate recordings
High frame rate recordings up to 120p for 4K QFHD (3,840 x 2,160) allow for capturing high-resolution videos in-camera. This expands creative possibilities in post-production, where subject motion can be highlighted or presented in slow motion. The S&Q mode also allows for capturing slow-motion/time-lapse sequences directly in the camera.

Expressive S-Cinetone™
With the same color functions as the renowned CineAlta and Cinema Line, the α6700 includes Sony's S-Cinetone image profile as a preset, producing images with true-to-life color reproduction and natural skin tones.

S-Log3 gamma curve with 14+ stops of latitude
The S-Log3 gamma curve emphasizes gradation features from shadow areas to mid-gray (18% gray), achieving up to 14+ stops of exposure latitude for flexible and creative color grading.

Real-time tracking for videos
AI-based real-time tracking provides a significant improvement in real-time tracking performance by automatically detecting, tracking, and focusing on the eyes of a subject. In addition to touch tracking to start tracking, a custom button can be used to track the selected subject regardless of its position in the frame and focus area setting.

Better video image stabilization with Active mode
The Active mode reliably stabilizes handheld video footage. The α6700 can measure camera shake and precisely compensate for it optically, providing effective stabilization without compromising mobility, even in 4K.

Breathing compensation for consistent field of view
For video, breathing compensation with compatible lenses achieves a uniform field of view through Clear Image Zoom, suppressing changes from focus position shifts. Breathing metadata can also be used in post-production.

Import custom LUT files
See how your footage will look after post-production during recording. You can import a custom LUT (lookup table) and preview it on the α6700's monitor during shooting.

Easy filmmaking
The α6700 is packed with features for video recording and production. The automatic image cropping adjusts the framing automatically while the subject is tracked by AI. For a cinematic look, the time-lapse function allows time-lapse videos to be created directly in the camera.

Powerful electronic viewfinder
The electronic XGA OLED viewfinder with about 2.36 million dots and approximately 1.07x magnification offers an exclusive view of the world. Double the brightness compared to the α6600 and a 33-degree wider viewing angle provide clear, comprehensive visibility. The viewfinder's refresh rate can be set to 120 fps (double rate) for a smooth viewfinder image with minimal motion blur when shooting moving subjects.

More shooting flexibility with tiltable monitor
The α6700 features a 3.0-inch LC touch display with approximately 1.03 million dots in a 3:2 ratio that can be flexibly tilted. This provides more freedom for positioning and framing, offering versatile creative photo and video options for handheld and gimbal shots.

Intuitive touch control
Touch the screen to select important functions such as the focus point or subject to track and press the shutter. Swipe left to right on the display to reveal touch symbols for quick mode changes or other settings. The function menu (Fn) can also be displayed with a swipe. During playback, you can select images by tapping and zoom in with intuitive finger gestures.

Improved menu structure
Based on feedback from professional photographers and videographers, the α6700's menu is now structured similarly to the latest full-frame α series models. The logical layout provides more efficient access to key shooting parameters like frame rate, shutter speed, etc. Quick Access buttons can be assigned for immediate access when needed, and touch control allows quick adjustment of button settings.
