The abstract strategy game Quoridor is surprisingly deep for its simple rules. The object of the game is to move your pawn to the opposite edge of the board. On your turn, you can either move your pawn or place a wall. You can hinder your opponent with wall placement, but not block him completely. Meanwhile, he tries to do the same to you. The first pawn to reach the opposite side wins.

The game consists of 12 different pieces constructed of right angled blocks so each piece is made of 5 "squares". (Think Tetris pieces, but 5 squares instead of 4.)

Quixo bears a superficial resemblance to Tic-Tac-Toe – with one player being crosses and the other circles, and with both trying to create a line of their symbol – but that's where the resemblance ends. The pieces in the game are cubes that have a circle on one side, a cross on another, and blank faces on the other four; to set up the game, players place the 25 cubes with blanks face-up on the 5x5 grid in the game board.

Quarto has a 4×4 board and 16 pieces. Each piece has four dichotomous attributes — color, height, shape, and consistency — so each piece is either black or white, tall or short, square or round, and hollow or solid. The object is to place the fourth piece in a row in which all four pieces have at least one attribute in common. The twist is that your opponent gets to choose the piece you place on the board each turn.

By the end of the 1001st night, the sultan Shahryar wishes to build the new realm of Almadi to honor the intelligence and wisdom of his wife Sheherazade. As the sultan’s advisor, you are the architect of this great work. Design a thriving territory with sumptuous palaces, fresh oases, opulent markets and majestic caravans. Skillfully arrange the landscapes and use their effects to turn your work into a great success!

Players build the Almadi realm in front of them by arranging the different Landscape types to the right of their starting tile. During their turn, each player chooses a Landscape tile from one of the rows on the central board and places it in the row with the same number in their realm. By placing this tile, the player can activate the effects of adjacent tiles.

At the end of the game, players score points based on the landscape layout in their realm, the number of rubies collected, the activation of certain effects and the royal objectives they have completed. They also score points if they have used the characters.

The player who scores the most points at the end of the game will be the winner.

Simple and tactical at the same time, Qawale finds its inspiration in piles of pebbles found along paths. Just like these wobbly rocks, prepare to be taken along the many twists and turns of this incredible game.

Each player gets 8 pebbles of their color. The third color is neutral and these pebbles are placed in the 4 corners of the board.

On their turn, players add a pebble to the top of an optional pile before moving it.

When a pile is moved, players must leave a pebble on each crossed space. The first player to get 4 pebbles of their color to line up from the top wins the game.

The game consists of 12 different pieces constructed of right angled blocks so each piece is made of 5 "squares". (Think Tetris pieces, but 5 squares instead of 4.)

A pure abstraction.

The goal is to be the first player to pose the fourth different forms of a line, a column or a square zone.

Each turn the players will put one of their pieces on the boardgame. It’s forbiden to put a shape in a line, a column or an area on which this same form has already been posed by the opponent. We can only double a shape if we have played the previous one himself. The first player who places the fourth different form in a row, column or zone wins the game immediately, no matter who owns the other pieces of that winning move.

It's Obvious is a game in which you and your fellow players, as apprentices of telepathy, have to co-operatively — and secretly — select different image cards from the center of the table.

In more detail, you choose an image card on display that in some way has a connection to the two image cards in front of you, stating something like "My choice is obvious!" or "It's a bit of stretch" or "I'm going for the non-obvious card as I think someone else will pick it". You may not give specific clues about what you have chosen or how it relates to one or both of the image cards in front of you; only a vague sense of how the choice feels to you.

One more image card is on display than the number of players, and once you've chosen your target image, you indicate this choice on a numbered secret dial. Once all players have chosen, they reveal their choices. If you're the only one who picked an image, then you take that image card and cover one of the two images in front of you. If everyone chose different cards, then you win the round! If, however, not everyone chose different cards, then you lose the round and everyone who chose "incorrectly" draws a new image card at random from the deck to replace one of theirs. Sweep any remaining image cards from the center, then reveal the appropriate number of image cards to start a new round.

If you lose a round for the third time, you lose the game; if you manage to complete a number of rounds (7-10) based on the player count before this happens, then you win! You can adjust the difficulty of the game in several ways to make it more or less difficult.

Imagidés, first released in the early 2000s as Talking Dice, is primarily a storytelling device, with players rolling the six-sided dice, then using the images on them to create a story one die at a time. While initially developed in order to assist students with language learning, particularly a secondary language, Imagidés can also be used for games.

To win Squadro, you need to be the first player to make a return trip with four of your five pieces.

Each player starts with their five pieces in troughs on their side of the game board, with players sitting perpendicular to one another. When you move a piece, you move it a distance based on the strength indicated in the trough that you're leaving. Once the piece has made its way across the board, you move it back based on the strength on the other side. If you pass over an opposing piece while moving, then that opposing piece must return to its last departing base and your moving piece advances one cell further than where the opposing piece was.

Although it is easy to reach a situation where moving any piece implies putting it at risk — therefore making you not want to move — it is important to note that having some of your pieces taken and making your opponent advance is often beneficial to you, since it reduces the amount of possible moves your opponent can perform and gives you extra moves. So do not be afraid or reluctant to place some of your pieces in front of your opponent's, because it can be good for you.

Sit next to your rival and have fun!

Quixo is superficially similar to Tic-Tac-Toe - with one player setting crosses and the other circles, both trying to create a line with their symbol - but that's where the similarity ends. The pieces in the game are dice that have a circle on one side, a cross on the other, and blank faces on the other four; to set up the game, players place the 25 dice blank side up on the 5x5 grid on the game board.
